BITMAIN promotes S23e U2H with three hydro-cooling deployment options
Source report: 2026-09-21 · Editorial analysis published: 2026-09-22
The manufacturer's September 21 post pairs the 865 TH/s, 10 J/TH rack miner with HW7, AR30 or AR31 cooling. Shipment is projected for November 2026–January 2027, and one published capacity claim needs clarification.

Analysis and practical implications
This section is our analysis and illustrative calculations, separate from the source report.
The manufacturer announcement
In a September 21 post, BITMAIN promoted a limited-time offer for the already announced ANTMINER S23e U2H. The company describes a 2U rack-ready hydro-cooled miner rated at 865 TH/s and 10 J/TH. It places the miner in three infrastructure packages: ANTSPACE HW7 container, ANTRACK AR30 cabinet and ANTRACK AR31 system. This is a commercial and deployment update, not the launch of a new ASIC model. The quoted 50% discount is described as valid through September 2026, but the post does not state the reference price or all eligibility terms, so an actual invoice needs a written quote.

Power implied by the efficiency claim
Multiplying 865 TH/s by 10 J/TH yields approximately 8,650 W of ASIC power at the named operating point. This is a calculation from two published specifications, not a separate measured power test. Auxiliary pumps, fans, transformers and networking add site demand; real power can also vary with operating mode and tolerances. A buyer should obtain a model-specific datasheet, operating temperature range, inlet-water specification, electrical connection and guaranteed acceptance criteria before treating 8.65 kW as a procurement or breaker-sizing value.
The HW7 capacity question
BITMAIN says a 40-foot ANTSPACE HW7 offers 2 MW cooling capacity, space for 242 S23e U2H units, an advertised PUE as low as 1.031 and a $169,000 container price. However, 242 machines at the stated 8.65 kW each would draw about 2.093 MW at the ASICs alone, before auxiliaries. That exceeds the quoted 2 MW figure. The difference could reflect operating modes or rating definitions, but the post does not explain it. We do not claim that all 242 units can run simultaneously at 865 TH/s inside a 2 MW thermal envelope; BITMAIN should reconcile the numbers in a full engineering schedule.
Smaller rack-level options
The AR30 is advertised at $16,000, accommodates 20 S23e U2H miners and connects to an existing cooling plant. The AR31 is advertised at $20,000, also holds 20 units, and adds an independent dry cooler plus heat-recovery capability. At the stated miner point, 20 units imply about 173 kW of ASIC electrical demand, before site auxiliaries. Capacity and price of a cabinet alone do not include every valve, pump, manifold, piping, distribution board or commissioning service. Verify the bill of materials and whether a local cooling source is already available.
Shipping is still future
The same post gives a shipping window from November 2026 to January 2027. It does not show delivered units at a particular customer site or a guaranteed installation date. A container and miners may have different manufacturing, transport, customs and commissioning paths. A financial model should start depreciation and assumed hashrate only when equipment is energized, not on the day a promotional post appears. If an order requires a deposit, ask for written milestones, remedies for delay, warranty start date and the precise configuration attached to each price.
Heat recovery needs a real use
AR31's separate dry cooler and heat-recovery proposition can be valuable where a continuous heat sink exists, but a hot-water outlet is not automatically a saleable energy product. Useful temperature, flow, heat exchanger performance, seasonal demand and backup heat rejection determine the result. At 8.65 kW per miner most consumed electric energy eventually becomes heat, yet not all of it reaches a customer at a useful temperature. Record an hourly heat-load profile alongside mining load; reject any ROI calculation that values the same heat twice or ignores pumping power.
What PUE can and cannot promise
An advertised PUE as low as 1.031 is a best-case facility-efficiency claim for the specified system, not a guaranteed meter reading at every climate, loading level or ambient temperature. PUE compares total facility energy with IT equipment energy and does not include the economics of Bitcoin, downtime or tariff. The stated ambient range of minus 40°C to 50°C is likewise a design claim requiring installation-specific checks. A buyer should request measurement boundary, test conditions, redundancy and maintenance assumptions before comparing HW7 with a different container.
Due diligence before ordering
Request the full machine and system datasheets, electrical one-lines, cooling-water parameters, a 242-unit simultaneous-load explanation, factory acceptance test, shipment terms and a written discount calculation. Model network difficulty, BTC price, delivered energy price and start-date uncertainty independently. The announcement gives tangible numbers and a future delivery window, but it is not proof of realized hashrate, installed cooling capacity or heat-recovery savings. The S23e U2H already exists in the ASIC.tools catalogue; this story updates the commercial context without creating a duplicate product page.
